Minor Characters
Throughout the course of the game, there will be opportunities for players to take on Minor Characters to participate in shorter term plots. Minor Characters will run the gamut of nation allegiances, agendas, and power. You are not required to have a normal PC character in Refracted Light in order to play an Minor Character - it's open to all players!
All available Minor Characters will have a basic concept listed and can be applied for with the truncated application form below. Minor Characters must be either original characters or minor characters within a canon (typically characterized as characters who are only around for a small amount of time or, if recurring, are not present in a majority of the episodes and/or do not have a large amount of dialogue). Since the criteria for an Minor Character is debatable, players are simply encouraged to apply with a potential Minor Character they think fits and the mods will inform them if they think the character is too much a main character for an Minor Character role. Minor Characters may also have unique jobs and abilities. When playing an Minor Character, a player will be given a set of goals that the Minor Character should be working to accomplish. Should the player not attempt to make progress toward the goals after one activity cycle, the Minor Character may be removed from that player at the mod's prerogative.
If desired, an Minor Character may eventually become a full-fledged PC by submitting a proper application for them in the Application page. We will contact you via your journal if we approve the application.
Open Minor Characters:
Job: Archon Commander
Description: A fierce otherworldly being, almost mechanical in demeanor. Seems to possess some degree of intelligence.
Personality: Unflinchingly duty-bound.
Expected Play Timeframe: Duration of June 3rd event (anticipated to run until June 10th)
Reward: 1 EP to any character you play
Notes: We will accept multiple applications for Archon commander, depending on the event size. In this case, we will not be accepting established characters, all Archon commanders will simply be played as originals. Additionally, we are waiving the Backstory requirement for this minor character, an application can be submitted without it.
