Application Rules:

Applications are currently OPEN.

-Players may app a maximum of 5 characters to this game.
-This game accepts Original Universe canon characters and Original characters that are the player's own invention.
-All characters are considered to be reincarnations of their prior life and will need an alternate universe backstory that fits them into the setting. This includes allegiance to one of the three major factions within the game.
-No more than 1 character can claim allegiance to no faction, you must have at least one character aligned with a major faction before you may app an unaligned character.
-All active characters must meet a minimum activity requirement of 10 comments a month spread over threads with at least 2 characters. A post counts as 4 comments but does not waive the character thread requirement (although threads within the post may be used for the remaining activity requirement)
-A thread must contain a minimum of 3 tags from your character to be counted for activity.

CHARACTER INFORMATION

Character Name: (Name of the character you are apping)
Canon Name: (Name of the canon the character is from. If there are multiple mediums such as manga and anime, or comic and movie, please specify which adaptation you are taking them from)

Background: (Explanation of the Character's general backstory up to their current canon point. Wiki links are acceptable and encouraged, but if they are too sparse we may ask for additional paragraphs to be written)

Canon Personality: (Describe the character's personality. This must be written by you to show you have a good grasp of who the character is and what they're like. This needs to be 3 paragraphs minimum)

Canon Abilities: (Describe the character's powers and abilities. A wiki link is acceptable but this should be complete since it will define the Echoes your character will receive and we may ask it be augmented with additional text if the wiki is not comprehensive. Magic items and weapons, mecha, and other physical goods that they own with their own powers should be included here as well)

AU INFORMATION:

Race: (What race was the character born into on Astrean? Race descriptions can be found here: http://modsoflight.dreamwidth.org/1074.html. Note, we will not require altered icons, but we do ask that you identify your character's race somehow if it's dramatically different from their canon incarnation, such as a Lalafell when your character is normally a human)
Job: (What jobs does your character possess? You may possess two jobs, a Primary and Secondary. The Primary job determines what equipment your character uses, the Secondary job gives just abilities that can be used in conjunction with those of your Primary job. Jobs can be found here: http://modsoflight.dreamwidth.org/1340.html. Jobs are restricted by aligned Nation, although we will on a case-by-case basis allow someone to originate from a Nation and have defected while still retaining their old Job alignment)
Nation Affiliation: (Does your character side with Liciae, Dalvarus, or the Crimson Rose? Characters may also be Unaligned, but you may not app more than 1 Unaligned character and your first or only character cannot be Unaligned)

AU Background: (What is the character's background in the setting? Characters will have been reborn in the world of Astrean and grown up there within the culture and kingdoms. The AU Background can be as similar or divergent from their canon background as you wish, players are encouraged to be creative)

AU Deviation: (Because they have grown up in a different world and different circumstances, it is expected that the character will be a bit different from their canon incarnation, although as they receive memory Echoes they may naturally return to a more pure canon interpretation if desired. This should be at least one paragraph and there must be at least some difference present - the different background and circumstances will by nature engender at least SOME difference, even if it's subtle).

RP Sample: (A sample of your writing and RP with the character you are apping. You have a few options depending on which best suits your schedule and playstyle:
-1 standard informal post example and 1 larger prose example, written as if it were being posted to the RP community.
-At least 2 threads, each with a different character in one of the RP testrun memes. If desired, these threads can be made canon if appropriate upon your character's acceptance.
-Answer at least 10 of the following questions based on the scenario presented below. Questions must be answered in character, per the scenario presented, and the character is not required to tell the truth. If the character is lying, please type "Lie" in parenthesis after the question.

You find yourself adrift in a sea of gentle green and white light. A warm, comforting and parental voice speaks to you. It has no distinct gender, being both male, female, and neither all at once, but it is warm and kind, overflowing with tenderness for you.

"Great one of old," it says, "it is time to once again awaken. The world is in peril, but the will of mortals is to live on even in the face of adversity. See. Remember. Awaken."

Images flood your mind as knowledge flows into you. It, like the sensation around you, is warm and comfortable. It's like coming home.

As the flood subsides, the voice speaks again.

"You remember now, at least a little. But memories are not all that define mortal life. Tell me, child, who are you?"

And with that query, a flood of questions enters your mind. You may answer or ignore them, as you will. Upon answering, you will awaken.

-It is the night before a great battle, where are you and what are you doing?
-It is the night before a life-changing exam, where are you and what are you doing?
-In your time of leisure, how do you choose to occupy yourself and why?
-Why is it you serve your liege?
-What is necessary to earn your loyalty?
-What is necessary to lose your loyalty?
