Open PC Roles
Here, Nation leaders will post roles they are interested in having PCs fill. If you are interested in filling a role, include the requested role in your application in the appropriate space. Roles will give you some degree of IC authority, but you are not to give characters orders against their will without the players explicit permission.
Liciae Positions:
Royal Vizier: Advisor to the King, and general head of staff. Viziers tend to double as bodyguards to protect their liege.
Church Liaisons: They hold a prominent place in society, and while technically they should not be in politics, they can strongly advise on policy and can influence public opinion. They can also be village priests, healers, or wandering Monks attending to the needs of the people.
Council of Lords: technically their job is to advise the king and report from provinces, but in reality, due to being the biggest landowners, and possessing the right and ability to raise regiments, they are a check on the monarch's power - anger them too much, and they may have to deal with a Noble-lead rebellion, but rebelling also risks unleashing Alexander's Divine Judgment, so it often ends up as an uneasy game of diplomacy and favor-trades. Like any group of politicians, there are factions, alliances, and rivalries from Royalists who are generally related to the royal family by blood or marriage, Church advocates, and rabble-rousing progressives all with clashing agendas.
Spymaster: A position that officially doesn't exist, but espionage is vital to a kingdom's safety. Their task is mainly preventive, gathering intelligence for potential threats and to deal with them at the King's behest.
Dalvarus Positions:
Inner Circle: The people who take up the places closest to the Empress' side. Personal guards (mainly for show), generals, advisors, even fellow royalty either of the present Empress' bloodline or perhaps the old, displaced dynasty. Usually comes with a good deal of prestige and respect but these places are highly coveted and tenuous.
Senators: The lawmakers and politicians of the Empire. Senators are drawn from all over the Empire with even smaller colonies being represented even if they're faced with quite an uphill battle in Dalvaran politics. All voices are heard but the ones that oppose the Empress have a bad habit of abruptly retiring. Tread carefully.
Echo Task Force: Although not much is known about the Echo and those who possess it, the Empress is very interested in these individuals. As such, she's created a special task force and dispatched recruiters to find these people and, well, recruit them... whether they like it or not. The good news is those on this task force answer to the Empress herself and will generally be allowed to conduct their business by whatever means they choose. The bad news is, they answer to the Empress herself.
